Hi found you on Google, looking for the correct way to take care of my sons pet 🐹 hamster. Not sure if I killed the one before. He seemed healthy and good. I fed him veggies. Defrosted fresh frozen veg. But 2 months in he died. found him dead in the cage. My youngest son so loved that hamster. I am a single mom and the therapist we are seeing suggested I give him a pet. Hamsters are permitted where we stay. No cats so I had to give his beloved cat away. He cried for months and months over that cat. He loved her to bits. And then Pesto his hamster seemed to fill the gap only to die. I was so crushed and he was so distraught my oldest son went immediately to the pet shop and replaced Pesto. 😭 I cannot handle seeing him sobbing so heart broken by his hamsters death. So I would like to make sure I am doing not the wrong things. The petshop said it was not my fault. But I would rather check in with that. I gave him beside the hamster food from the pet shop as per a Google look up; defrosted the same day not in advance sweet corn, broccoli, cauliflower, beans and carrots. Did I kill his hamster with these foods. SORRY WE ARE FROM SOUTH AFRICA, I found your website looking for help to take care of Toasty in the proper way so as to avoid any further heart break.
