How to Name Your Cat

Before we begin, let’s go over a few tips on how you can think up a new name for your cat. You can begin with your cat’s appearance—their color, patterns, and even eye color can all be inspirations for a name. You can also use your cat’s shape and size for a fun name—a chubby cat could be named Slenderman ironically or The Blob not ironically.

Also, look to your favorite actors, authors, musicians, and characters from movies, books, and TV shows. Movies, in particular, are full of villains!

Finally, look at your cat’s personality and any quirks for ideas, or even consider names from drinks, food, or video games.

Use Your Imagination!

Now that you’ve read through all these names, you might have a much better idea of what name might work for you and your kitty.

You can give your cat just about any name that you can think of but don’t forget that you’ll be using this name around family and friends and at the veterinarian’s office. But your cat doesn’t care about what name you give them. They only want to be taken care of, with plenty of love and affection to make them happy.

You can also consider creating your own evil name for your kitty. Here is a list of titles and honorifics that you can add to almost any name.

  • Professor
  • Duke or Duchess
  • Her or His Majesty
  • Queen/King
  • Madame/Sir
  • Mrs. or Miss
  • Dame
  • Prince/Princess
  • Senator
  • Sergeant
  • General
  • Colonel

You can use words that also mean villain as honorifics, such as:

  • Bandit
  • Brigand
  • Outlaw
  • Rogue
  • Scoundrel
  • Supervillain

You can even combine some of these, like Colonel Scoundrel or Dame Supervillain!

Conclusion

A few of the names on these lists are obvious—Darth Vader, for example. We didn’t include some of the more renowned villains, such as Catwoman or The Joker, as they wouldn’t make the best cat names, but perhaps names like these would be perfect for your cat!

Remember to be inspired by your cat’s coloring and cattitude. Try using an online thesaurus to find words with different meanings or look to your favorite books or TV shows.

We hope that if you haven’t found the perfect name for your cat on our list, you’ve at least been inspired. Either way, your mischievous cat can use their villainous name to take over the world!
